The Bavarian company with a
world-wide name built its own modifications of cars based on the diesel sedan
and the new generation of the BMW 5-Series. In the Alpina, the models were
called the D5 S. The novelties were equipped with a diesel engine with three
consecutive superchargers and an all-wheel drive system.
Alpina D5 S is offered with
a six-cylinder in-line engine of 3.0 liters, which will work with an eight-band
automatic transmission ZF. The power of this unit is 388 horsepower and 800 Nm
of torque.
Dynamic characteristics of
cars were as follows: acceleration to 100 km/h in the sedan takes 4.4 seconds,
and the station wagon - 4.6 seconds. The maximum speed of the models is 286 and
283 km / h, respectively.
In Alpina, another
intercooler, a new intake, exhaust, cooling and turbine system was prepared for
the sedan and station wagon. In addition, the list of equipment Alpina D5 S
includes a rear air suspension, shock absorbers with electronic control of the
company Bilstein and 20-inch wheels.
The minimum cost of such
cars in Germany starts from 87,900 euros.
Public debut Alpina D5 S
will take place in September at the International Motor Show in Frankfurt am
Main.
