This is exactly what is happening: the companies have just announced a partnership that will see a new unitized vehicle platform born under the name EVX. The chassis is said to lend itself best to all-electric GTS cars, sedans and SUVs, but options should be nearly unlimited.
One of the main advantages of the platform comes in the form of a compound structural battery rated as high as 160 kilowatt-hours. With power cells distributed throughout the entire vehicle, drivers will be able to cover around 1,000 kilometers (620 miles) on a single charge. It is also reported that the maximum powertrain output supported will be 1,340 horsepower (985 kilowatts).
