The KTM X-Bow GT4 is an Austria-made sports car that has been winning various races starting in 2016 (this includes several wins in 2019, of course). Now, KTM rolls out a new version of it, called the Evo.
Co-developed with Reiter Engineering, the 2020 X-Bow GT4 Evo boasts two tiny rear winglets at both sides, rather than a single large wing. The engine is the old 2.0-liter Audi turbo-four, but it now churns out 375 hp (280 kW) to the wheels instead of 360 (268). You may even pay extra to have it upgraded to 440 hp (328 kW).
The aerodynamic performance is also said to have been drastically improved, which includes lowering the downforce on both axles for better overall balance (yes, there is such thing as too much downforce). The top speed remains unannounced for the Evo; it amounted to 265 km/h (165 mph) for its predecessor.
Other than that, the car stays unchanged, with its carbon-fiber monocoque overlaid with bodywork, a roll cage, a mid-engine tucked in between the seats and the rear axle, and adjustable racing-spec suspension. It weighs in at 999 kilos (2,202 pounds), of which the front axle bears 45%.
