The China-based IAT Automobile Technology has released what looks like the most expensive SUV in history. Karlmann King can be purchased at U.S. $2 million in its base version, whereas the top-of-the-line model costs a head-spinning $3,8 million. Production plans exist for only 10 cars.
At its core, remarkably enough, the ultra-luxurious Karlmann King is but a heavily modded Ford F-550 driven by a power-packed 6,8-liter V10 capable of 400 horsepower. Big and badass as it is, this engine still has trouble accelerating the vehicle which weighs 4.5 metric tons (~10,000 lbs.) past 140 km/h (87 mph). One can only guess how it manages to push forward the armor-clad version of the SUV, which weighs all of 6 metric tons (~13,333 lbs.).
The passenger compartment of the highly unique Karlmann King SUV houses an espresso machine, a fridge and a folding table, and offers a Sony PlayStation 4 for entertainment.
