Lagonda All-Terrain Concept debuts in Geneva

Lagonda, a sub-brand owned by Aston Martin, has premiered its first all-electric SUV called the All-Terrain Concept at the ongoing international motor show in Geneva, Switzerland. Apparently, its design team drew inspiration from modern super yachts. The company says it will adapt the key styling elements of the SUV to whatever will be trending in 2022, however.

The Lagonda All-Terrain sports rear-hinged doors and a sunshine roof. It houses four standalone seats, and you can turn the front ones 180 degrees to face the rear ones whenever the autopilot feature is engaged. The digital instrument panel comes integrated into the steering wheel, and the infotainment system with its touch-enabled display resides in the center tunnel. The interior takes advantage of luxury trimming materials, including genuine cashmere.

Another interesting feature of the All-Terrain Concept comes in the form of a levitating ignition key. This isn’t an eye trick, either: the key actually hovers in mid-air thanks to an electromagnetic field. The company said it wanted to emphasize that a physical, tangible ignition key is still a thing in the future.

Finally, the car has a shelf concealed in its lower trunk area that you can use as a picnic table or an extra seat.

The production will take place in St Athan, Wales. First cars will roll into dealerships in 2022.
