Lister wants to resurrect its Knobbly speedster from the 1950s

Lawrence Whittaker, head and co-owner of Lister Motor Co., just announced that the company planned to release a modern reinterpretation of the Knobbly, a classical speedster model manufactured back in the 1950s.

According to him, the company already has a concept car underway. As you can see on the first (and only) available image, the two-door sports vehicle does maintain some resemblance to the original Knobbly, but still has a distinctive design of its own that involves lots of sharp edges and angles.

Rumors that Lister Motor Co. was going to resurrect the legendary racecar have been circulating in the automotive media since 2017. The company said back then that it considered releasing a tiny batch of just 10 vehicles and making them street-legal.

The reborn speedster will utilize the same kind of tubular space-frame and aluminum bodywork as the original Knobbly. It will come powered with a six-cylinder Jaguar engine available in two forms: 3.8L with 334 hp / 250 kW, and 4.2L with 354 hp / 264 kW.
