Dany Bahar, an ex-CEO of the British car manufacturer Lotus and the founder of luxury automotive retailer ARES, has announced a retro supercar project his company has been working on for some time. The vehicle, which goes under the provisional name of Panther Project, is strongly reminiscent of the classic sports car De Tomaso Pantera.
This is more than a mere coincidence: the newcomer gets to inherit deeply recessed headlights and characteristic protrusions in the rear part of the body from its spiritual predecessor. A set of giant wheels clad in Pirelli P Zero tires also succeeds in drawing immediate attention to this latest creation of ARES design atelier.
The hood of the updated Pantera houses a high-end 5.2-liter V10 racing engine by Lamborghini Huracan. The stock version of the engine outputs 610 horsepower, but Panther Project will likely get a stronger modification.
ARES is currently supervising the construction of its own car assembly line in Italy to produce the new Panther cars in a strictly limited series.
