The
most extreme model for public roads is planned to be released this year.
Hypercar McLaren, which received the internal index P15, will be the second
most powerful machine after the track P1 GTR in its model range.
The
novelty will be completed with a modified eight-cylinder twin-turbo engine with
a volume of 3.8 liters. The unit will survive many changes in order to achieve
its lightest weight. The performance of such an engine will be about 800
horsepower. Work it will put in tandem with a modernized robotic box with seven
speeds and two clutches.
The
basis for the McLaren P15 will be a carbon monocoque Monocage II. The body
panels of the hypercar will also be made of carbon fiber. Due to this the total
mass of the model will be approximately 1,300 kilograms. To everything, cars
were equipped with an aerodynamic body kit with active elements.
McLaren
plans to limit releasing of a novelty by 500 units. The cost of P15 is 840,000
pounds (approximately, 700,000 euros). The closed show of the hypercar will be
held before the end of 2017, and before the general public it will be presented
next year at the Geneva Motor Show.
