Mercedes-Benz introduced the track version of the AMG GT R

The sports division of Mercedes-Benz has finished the supercar AMG GT R for participation in competitions of category GT4. In this class, cars are being measured, the road versions of which have undergone little changes, and as a result have become track cars. Pilots of such sports cars are among the amateurs.

The racing coupe Mercedes-AMG GT4 received under the hood 510-hp four-liter supercharged unit V8. The maximum torque of the motor is 600 Nm. Drive - exclusively rear. As a transmission, a six-step sequential box with a pneumatic shift drive is selected. Overclocking the sports Mercedes-AMG GT4 to 100 km / h takes less than 4 seconds, the top speed is more than 250 km/h.

Engineers also conducted manipulations to reduce the weight of the model. For this, it was decided to abandon the secondary equipment, noise insulation and air conditioning system. As a result, the total mass of the car was 1390 kilograms, which is 240 kg less than the stock Mercedes-AMG GT R.

On the eve of sales, the novelty was extensively tested on the world racing tracks. The most serious test was the 30-hour race on the German track Lausitzring.

You can see the Mercedes-AMG GT4 in the coming weekend at the 24-hour Spa 24-hour marathon in Belgium.

The track compartment is already available for order at the lowest price of 198 859 euros.
