Microlino goes through another redesign prior to launch

The Swiss-designed Microlino is nearing its production and sales start scheduled for 2021, and in the meantime, the company is trying to get it as polished as possible.

The black vehicle in our gallery here is the latest test mule that should also be the final one before production. Another shot reveals the cabin of the car next to its expected final design to the right. A touch-sensitive dash display replaces the conventional buttons and knobs.

Microlino believes that the tiny BMW Isetta lookalike – which even opens at the front, like its predecessor – should attract customers with its superb power efficiency and miniature size that simplifies parking. The powertrain may churn out mere 15 PS (15 hp / 11 kW) and 100 Nm (74 lb-ft) of torque, but this is still enough to drive at 90 km/h (56 miles per hour) and cover 125 km (77 miles) on a charge. Those who feel they need more grid autonomy may opt for a larger battery rated for 200 km (124 miles) of range.

Prices in Europe will begin at €12,000.
