Austria-based Milan Automotive GmbH has introduced Red, its first-ever hypercar which will emerge in a series of just 99 vehicles priced at around €2,000,000 each.
According to Markus Fuchs, professional racing driver and founder of the company, the hypercar has been designed with a single goal in mind: to attract people’s attention.
The bodywork of the Milan Red consists largely of carbon. The chassis and suspension also utilize numerous carbon components. The wheel hubs are made from titanium using an innovative technology somewhat similar to 3D printing. The entire car will weigh in at just 1,300 kilograms (2,865 lb).
The vehicle is driven from the rear axle by a 6.2-liter V8 engine assisted by four turbochargers made by AVL, a major Formula One vehicle parts supplier. The monster engine is capable of producing up to 1,325 hp (988 kW) and 1,400 Nm (1,033 lb·ft) and will work in tandem with a seven-speed DCT. The vehicle needs less than 2.5 seconds to accelerate 0-100 km/h and less than 10 s to reach 300 km/h.
The equipment list also includes carbon-ceramic brakes, aluminum wheels, and height-adjustable suspension.
18 out of the 99 hypercars have already been sold via pre-orders. First vehicles will reach their respective owners in 2020 or later.
