German
auto giant BMW Group announced the release of a fully electric three-door car
in 2019. It will be built on the basis of the main model of the brand -
hatchback Mini Cooper.
Production
of compact machines will be established in the UK. In the same place where the
Cooper car is currently produced. And power plants for them will be assembled
in Germany at the plants in Landshut and Dingolfing.
According
to preliminary information, an electric car called the Mini Cooper E will be
able to travel one charge more than 400 kilometers.
Recall
that in 2008 the company made attempts in the development of electric cars, but
they ended with the release of the concept Mini E, and now successfully
resumed.
