Italy-based carmaker Mole Automobile will attend the impending Geneva automobile show with a hydrogen-powered sports car concept called Mole Contruzione Artigianale Almas. Unofficial sources say the manufacturer intends to produce a small batch aimed mostly at car collectors, but no confirmation exists at the moment.
The vehicle takes advantage of a lightweight chassis made completely out of carbon-fiber reinforced plastic. According to the company, its layout is equally well suited for a hydrogen cell-based powertrain and a more traditional ICE drivetrain. It is still unclear just which one of these the Geneva display car will boast.
Mole Automobile was founded by UP Design studio owner Umberto Palermo. Last summer, UP Design came up with a concept car titled Mole Construction Artigianale 001. The firm called it a design study and a speculation on what the next generation of the Alfa Romeo 4C might look like. The car seemed clearly inspired by the latest Alfa Romeo models and featured a remade interior with generous amounts of natural leather and carbon used throughout.
