Hongqi, a Chinese car manufacturer and main limousine provider for the upper echelons of the China Communist Party since 1958, has announced the preliminary price range for the all-new four-door H5 sedan. The premium vehicle will be available at between 160,000 and 200,000 CNY.
The coming Hongqi H5 utilizes the same platform as the latest-generation Mazda6. It is powered by a 1.8-liter turbo gasoline engine with 178 hp (133 kW) and 250 Nm (185 lb·ft) of torque.
The manufacturer isn’t revealing anything about the acceleration performance of the new Hongqi H5 sedan or its trim options. It can be safely assumed that the latter will mainly determine the end price.
Hongqi issued its first publicly available sedan model, the H7, in 2013.
