New Pininfarina Battista debuts in Turin with a restyled front end

Pininfarina has taken the wraps off a new version of its Battista hyper-EV, Italy’s most powerful production vehicle ever, at a special event in Turin.

Following a series of painstaking wind tunnel tests, the manufacturer has found it necessary to make substantial design changes in the vehicle front. The improved version of the hyper-coupe will now go on a series of test drives piloted by Nick Heidfeld, ex-F1 driver and active Formula E participant.

The original Pininfarina Battista debuted at the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show this spring. Developed in cooperation with Rimac, the hypercar comes equipped with four electric motors joining their efforts for 1,900 horsepower (1,417 kilowatts) and 2,300 Nm (1,696 pound-feet) of torque. It needs a mere two seconds to get from standstill to 100 km/h and tops out at 350 km/h (217 mph).

Pininfarina limits the production quantity to 150 units, with 30 already sold in pre-orders.
