The weight of a novelty makes only 130 kilograms. The body of the electric vehicle is made of a completely recycled plastic. The novelty will be shown to public at the competition Shell Eco-Marathon in Singapore this month, every year college teams represent there the best achievements in the field of automotive industry. The main condition of a victory — the smallest energy consumption of the car.
The majority of details of the car are made of eco-friendly plastic, thanks to what there shouldn't be problems with utilization of such car. Moreover, lightweight allows to equip the electric car with the budgetary power plant having about 5 kW. It must be enough for achievement of 40 km/h. Passenger capacity, however, is small: only one seat is provided in the car.
The electric car was designed by the team of University of Canterbury in the city of Christchurch.
