It became known that the
platform of the second generation of the electric car will form the basis of
the whole class of ecological cars of the Japanese brand. This was reported by
the British edition of Autocar.
The first of these will be a
Nissan Terra crossover, the concept of which was already introduced in 2012. In
its basis, according to the manufacturer's previous idea, there was a hydrogen
power unit. But the project did not go beyond the prototype.
It is known that Terra will
receive from Leaf an electric motor and batteries with a power reserve of up to
550 kilometers on a single charge. Plus, it is possible the appearance of the
all-wheel drive modification, with another electric engine on the rear axle.
The estimated minimum cost
of the Nissan Terra is $ 45,000. The timing of the appearance of the crossover
has not yet been reported.
The premiere of the electric
hatchback Nissan Leaf will take place very soon - September 6 in Tokyo.
