Pagani Automobili company officially showed the new Huayra roadster in Network. The big debut of the novelty will be held at the Geneva Motor Show next month.
The work on Huayra Roadster was begun 7 years ago, it was planned that the premiere of the car would be held closer by 2014, however the concept of roadster was completely revised in 2013. Engineers had to design a car again. The founder of Pagani Horatio Pagani noted that the roadster version of the model became one of the most difficult projects for his team. In total 100 copies of the supercar will be exhausted, at the same time the most part is already reserved. The price is decent — 2 million 280 thousand euros.
If to compare the new version to the same model in a body of a coupe, then Huayra became much easier thanks to its new carbon fiber Carbo-Triax HP52. Now it weighs 1280 kilograms (that is 80 kilograms lighter). The car will go on sale with two removable roofs : creators developed a fabric roof on a carbonic framework and rigid, with glass. The car owner will be able to change them if desired, the soft roof can be easily located in a luggage compartment.
Under the hood there is a 6,0-liter Mercedes-AMG V12 engine of M 158 series. It generates the power of 764 "horses", the maximum torque is equal to 1000 Nm. In a tandem there is a transmission, presented by seven-step "robot". exclusive carbon-ceramic brakes Brembo, Pirelli PZero Corsa tires and 20-inch front and 21-inch rear aluminum wheels are available. Quite perhaps, in future the roadster will be improved to the "hot" version of BC as it was with a coupe.
Pagani Automobili is the company of the Italian engineer and collector of cars Horatio Pagani. The firm is founded in 1992 and specializes only in supercars.
