The electronics corporation has attended the virtual CES-2021 show with its own take on an in-car heads-up display powered by augmented reality. The system look quite adept at annotating the surrounding reality to help drivers and increase safety.
The tech relies on AI to interpret the surrounding objects and traffic signage within the context of the current road situation in real time. This enables it to recognize and highlight sudden obstacles popping into view ahead, mark pedestrian crossings, indicate proper ramp and intersection exits, look for nearest parking spots, and even check if the vehicle passes under all the bridges ahead.
Another interesting feature comes in the form of eye direction tracking, which allows Panasonic to project relevant data onto the specific part of the windshield that is within the driver’s field of view at any given time.
