Michael Perschke, CEO of Automobili Pininfarina, said in an interview that the company would be launching two purely electric car models over the course of the next few years.
Both the sedan/saloon and the SUV should reach production-ready states within the next three years. Which one of these hits the market first will depend on the actual demand.
Both models are expected to get extra large traction batteries (between 100 and 125 kWh), which should mean a driving range of at least 600 kilometers (375 miles). The current price estimates lie in the rather wide area between €200,000 and €400,000, and the company admits even this range is not final.
There is a rumor stating that the company has struck a deal with a ‘major automobile manufacturer’ to design the technical platform for both cars. No further details are being provided.
Pininfarina’s latest premiere was the hypercar called Battista, which you can see on the video and photos here. It comes equipped with four electric motors joining their efforts for 1,900 hp (1,417 kW) and 2,300 Nm (1,696 pound-feet) of torque. The extreme sports vehicle takes 2 seconds flat to get from zero to one hundred kilometers per hour (62 mph), and maxes out a good deal above 350 km/h (217 mph).
