Puritalia Automobili announces 150 Berlinetta hybrid hypercars

Italy-based supercar builder Puritalia Automobili will be coming to the 2019 Geneva International Motor Show with a hybrid model celled Berlinetta. To make the waiting more tolerable, the company has released a teaser demonstrating the 980-hp (731-kW) vehicle.

The supercar will take advantage of an all-carbon body and will come powered with a combination of an eight-cylinder gasoline engine (for the front axle) and an electric motor (for the rear axle). Their combined output will amount to 980 hp (731 kW) and 1,248 Nm (931 lbft) of torque.

Representatives of the company stressed that the power/torque distribution is AI-managed, and the driver can access most of the car’s functions using his or her phone or tablet.

The Puritalia Berlinetta will emerge in a strictly limited series of just 150 cars, with prices remaining a bit of a mystery at this point. The manufacturer promises manual assembly of each copy along with custom interior finishing.
