At the last year Geneva IMS, Puritalia Automobili unveiled its hybrid supercar called the Berlinetta (see the gallery and the video). This year, it will be revisiting the trade fair with a new version of the car.
The unique show vehicle boasts seven layers of Rosso Vesuvio paintjob, applied manually, as well as original forged wheels and a cabin finished with carbon fiber and white Italy-made leather known as Nabucco.
The regular Berlinetta comes powered by a 5.0-liter supercharged V8 engine rated at 750 hp (559 kW) and 878 Nm (648 lb-ft) of torque. It also has a single electric motor that gives it additional 215 hp (160 kW) and 370 Nm (273 lb-ft). The combined nominal output therefore amounts to 965 hp (720 kW) and 1,248 Nm (920 lb-ft). The transmission is seven-speed dual-clutch automatic, the drive stays on the rear axle, and the traction battery capacity amounts to meager 5.2 kilowatt-hours. The frame is made of a combination of aluminum and carbon fiber, and the body uses the latter exclusively.
The price of the one-off show car is unknown. The standard Berlinetta comes priced slightly above €500,000.
In other news, Puritalia Automobili CEO Paolo Parente has announced the development of another EV called ‘Project SuperVEloce’. More details will be revealed at the Geneva show.
