A 12-year-old Spyker C8 Laviolette with only 1,120 km (695 miles) on the counter will be available for bidding in Newport, Rhode Island, USA on October 1, and is expected to fetch between $300,000 and $400,000.
It is one of only 58 C8 Laviolette coupes produced in 2001–2008 (the rest of the batch of under 300 vehicles were roadsters). Only four C8 models were finished in orange, and this specific example might even be unique in its combination of trim options.
The car was imported new into the USA and had stayed in Florida until 2015. It had around 800 km (500 miles) on the odo prior to being acquired by its current owner from Maryland. Throughout its life, the hand-assembled coupe has been kept in a climatized environment and received regular maintenance.
A 4.2-liter Audi V8 drives the wheels through a Getrag six-speed manual transmission mounted in a transaxle fashion. With 400 PS (394 hp / 294 kW) and 480 Nm (354 lb-ft) of torque at the crank, the car needs 4.5 seconds to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) and maxes out at 300 km/h (186 mph).
