Chinese car manufacturer Lynk & Co has proceeded to the testing stage of its new coupe-shaped SUV called simply the ‘05’. The spy pictures emerged online a couple days ago.
For those who did not pay attention, the Lynk & Co automobile brand was co-founded by Geely and Volvo three years ago and currently has three models on the lineup: 01 (crossover SUV), 02 (same) and 03 (sedan/saloon). The test mule depicted here is a coupe-shaped reimagination of the Number One.
The Number Five will be based on the Compact Modular Architecture (CMA) and ship with a 2.0-liter turbo-four engine rated at 187 hp (137 kW). A 7-speed DCT transmission will send the torque to all four wheels. Customers will also be able to opt for a hybrid variant of the car, based on a 1.5-liter three-cylinder gas engine and an electric motor. This configuration comes manufacturer-rated at a healthy 260 hp (191 kW) and offers around 50 kilometers (31 miles) of all-electric range.
