An electric version of the Rapide sedan will come out
under the name RapidE. Aston Martin will develop a new car jointly with the
British company Williams Advanced Engineering which performs development and
tests in the area of energy-efficient technology.
There are rumors that the car will get two electric
engines with total power of more than 800 horsepower. The car endurance
distance by one charge will amount to 320 kilometers.
Aston Martin informed that the number of new cars will
be limited up to 155 exemplars. The acceptation of orders for the electric car
will start in the nearest future. Those who would like to become owners of the
RapidE electric car will have to pay a sum of 200 000 pounds sterling. The
car production will be entered on the conveyor of the British trademark.
The technical properties of RapidE are kept in secrecy
at the moment.
It is to be recalled that the concept of an electric
car was officially presented two years ago.
