Shelby Series 2 suddenly pops up at the Paris Motor Show

Few U.S. car manufacturers attended the Paris Motor Show this year. However, Shelby American apolitically decided to come all the same – and bring a whole lot of cars along.

Among other entries, the atelier exhibited such famous cars as the Super Snake and the Baja Raptor. However, the spotlight was completely stolen by the unexpected appearance of the Shelby Series 2.

The car was announced in May as the continuation of the Shelby Series 1 dynasty. The newcomer received the same monocoque base as its predecessor, but came with a number of innovative features, including a so-called “inboard cantilevered” suspension and powerful six-piston brakes on all four wheels.

You may order your Shelby Series 2 with an aluminum, carbon or titanium body, out of which the aluminum one seems to hit the spot like no other.

The car will ship with 19-inch forged wheels clad in Michelin Pilot Cup 2 tires and a wide selection of engines up to 800 hp (595 kW) strong and even beyond that.

Production will begin in the summer of 2019 and will be limited to 4 cars per year.
