Sitech releases first DEV1 hatchbacks way ahead of schedule

Chinese car company Sitech had initially planned to launch its DEV1 model into mass production in December 2018, but, according to local media reports, first vehicles have already rolled off the assembly lines of the FAW works.

The Sitech DEV1 is an environmentally clean four-seat hatchback with a small 75-hp (56-kW) engine. It has a driving range of around 350 kilometers (217 mi) and needs at least 5 hours to get back up to full charge. The company representatives claim its operation costs do not exceed 0.73 USD per 100 km (60 mi).

The main feature of the Sitech DEV1 comes in the form of its on-board operating system called the D-OS, which can reportedly remember the driver’s personal preferences and then suggest certain destinations, radio stations, etc.

The model will go on sale on August 30, 2018 priced at U.S. $16,000 and above. Buyers will be able to customize their copies using a broad palette of available body colors and purely aesthetic accessories.

It should be mentioned that Sitech has plans to eventually enter the U.S. market with the brand name “Gyon”. The company wants to introduce 9 new luxury sedan and SUV models there before 2028, priced between U.S. $30,000 and $115,000.

Gyon cars will use an improved version of the D-OS system, called the G-OS, and take advantage of new traction batteries with 10 minutes’ fast charging time.
