Spyker to stop production of the C8 Aileron supercars

The Netherlands-based supercar builder Spyker has stopped production of its second-generation C8 Aileron supercars. Only three final copies of the vehicle will roll of the assembly line before the series is terminated.

The design of these last three C8 Aileron cars will pay an homage to the C8 Laviolette LM85 Coupe released as early as 2008, the company says. By the way, the latter participated in two endurance races, the 24 Hours of Sebring and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

These vehicles will get aluminum bodies painted in the usual sports car style. They will come with 4.2-liter V8 mechanically supercharged engines developed by Audi. These output an impressive 532 horsepower with 600 Nm torque, allowing the car to get going at 100 km/h (60 mph) in just 3.9 seconds.

The interior of the new C8 Aileron will be color-matched with the car body and feature high-quality leather, custom-made seats, and an aluminum dashboard.
