Sunra launches production of its first EV

The first Sunra i03 subcompact hatchback has rolled off the assembly lines of Huachen Xinri Factory, Wuxi, China. The electric car, which is smaller even than the Fiat 500 and the Kia Picanto, will become available either later this month or in January 2021.

The Sunra comes out in two variants called the i03 and i03A, but the differences between the two boil down to the design of bumpers and lighting at both ends. The electric motor is rated at 61 PS (60 hp / 45 kW) and gets the car rolling at 50 km/h (31 mph) in 4.5 seconds. The top speed is capped at 100 km/h (62 mph). On the plus side, the 38.5-kWh battery promises up to 410 kilometers (255 miles) of NEDC-rated range.

Sunra is a brand primarily associated with electric scooters and bikes – watch the video for a brief overview.
