The new Ehang 184 UAV makes a successful flight with passengers on board

The Chinese drone manufacturer Ehang has reported successful conclusion of a series of tests concerning its latest unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV), the Ehang 184. Apparently, some final test flights were personally attended by a few company executives and government officials as passengers.

In total, Ehang 184has undergone over 1,000 various tests in the last month alone. The drone made cargo shipments, climbed to its peak altitude, accelerated to its maximum, and learned to withstand various adverse climate and weather conditions.

The Ehang management plans to use the UAV as an autonomous air taxi. The vehicle can stay airborne for about fifteen minutes, is capable of finding the shortest route to destination and maneuvering around obstacles without any kind of direct or remote human assistance. Should something extraordinary happen, however, there are some simple basic controls passengers can use to tell it what to do next.

Last but not least, as a full-electric aircraft, the new Ehang 184 is completely environmentally-friendly.
