As well as it was promised, in the evening on January 31 Spaniards showed the fifth generation of Seat Ibiza hatchback in Network. In a month the model will also be brought to the motor show to Geneva, where everyone will be able to estimate the car itself. Sales must begin in Europe within a year, in some countries the car will be on sale in June.
The novelty's exterior, is really similar to the design of the older Leon model: parallels are traced in the general proportions of the body, its front part, the subwindow line and plastic of side parts, though Ibiza has new rear optics after all. Now Ibiza also will be available only in a five-door execution, the car maker decided to refuse from a "three-door" version. It is only width, that changed from car's dimensions (it increased by 87 mm, to 1780 mm) and a wheelbase (it increased by 95 mm, to 2564 mm).
Hatchback's interior became more spacious and was updated with the exception of the steering wheel and dashboard. The touch screen of multimedia system changed its location a little, air vents appeared from above.
There is a motor scale from three units under the hood: the three-cylinder petrol TSI turbine motor (power of 95 or 115 h.p.) of 1 liter, the 1,6-liter four-cylinder TDI diesel engine (power of 80, 95 or 115 h.p.) and the turbine motor 1.5 TSI Evo (power of 150 h.p.) for "hot" version. Mechanical transmission will be five-step (if the kickback of the power plant is less than 100 horsepowers) or six-step. Seven-step "robot" DSG is optionally available .
It is noted, that soon the compact crossover will be assembled on the basis of new generation of Seat Ibiza and it will have the front-wheel drive (standard version) and full- wheel drive (top version), as well as enhanced protection of the bottom and other bodywork.
