At the Auto Show in Los Angeles, which will be held before the end of the year, will be the official premiere of the new sports car Saleen S1. By the way, in spite of the fact that the engine of the "charged" Ford Focus RS was placed under the hood of the coupe, it will be produced at the plant in China. The founder of the car was retired American rider Steve Salin. Previously, he developed a supercar Saleen S7, due to which he became known also in the area of autoconstruction.
Despite the fact that Saleen S1 is declared as a novelty, the car is a "pumped" version of the German coupe Artega GT 2007. By the way, Steve Salin bought all rights to the Artega GT model in 2015.
Returning to the conversation about the engine, it is worth noting that the novelty will receive the engine 2,3 Ecoboost. And, unlike the unit, which is put on the Ford Focus RS, this unit underwent a global upgrade, resulting in its power increased to 457 hp, and the maximum speed threshold is limited to 290 km/h. The remaining characteristics are still classified as "secret".
Saleen S1 will be produced in China, but the manufacturer also plans to supply the car to the markets of Europe and the USA.
