The Vision 2030 Desert Raid you see here had been intended as a GIMS-2020 show car, but with the show canceled, we will have to make do with these pics.
The two-seater comes based on the earlier prototype called just Vision 2030 (see video for details). Both vehicles share the bodywork and the powertrain. The new one boasts a slightly wider wheel span, special wheels and tires for dune-climbing, 240 millimeters (9.4 inches) of road clearance, and carbon-fiber aprons at both ends.
The sports seats inside come wrapped in wear-resistant textile.
The powertrain incorporates two electric motors jointly rated at 517 hp (386 kW) and 680 Nm (502 lb-ft) of torque. The 90-kWh traction battery translates into 450 km (280 miles) of range. A sprint to 100 km/h (62 mph) takes 3.8 seconds, and the top speed is capped at 250 km/h (155 mph).
