Toyota Motor and Suzuki Motor companies signed the agreement on cooperation within which they are going to develop technologies and work together to solve issues concerning deliveries of products and accessories. Toyota hopes, that as a result of partnership the number of the issued vehicles will reach a point of 18 million a year. By this moment of Toyota and Suzuki will realize together about 13 million cars a year.
An important area of collaboration will be the construction of electric cars, improvement of information and unmanned technologies as well as security systems. Collaboration must begin "immediately".
Toyota conducted negotiations on the beginning of a cooperation with Suzuki since October.
The decision was made by the Japanese company on the background of the arrival at the car market of new brands from related fields and growing competition because of this situation. The cooperation with such large corporation was necessary for Suzuki after the termination of partnership with German Volkswagen in 2015.
Experts note, that by this moment Suzuki and Toyota deliver more than 60% of economy cars to Japan's markets. It means, that partnership can break the anti-monopoly laws of the Land of the Rising Sun in case of reckless acts of management of the companies.
