British company Vanwall Group intends to recreate a strictly limited quantity of vintage Vanwall-branded roadsters to commemorate the racing team’s victory in the Formula One Constructors’ Cup. The engineers will be using 1950s-era blueprints to build these.
Each of the six planned cars will be assembled manually in strict accordance with the schematics. England-based automaker Hall and Hall will supervise the process, outfitting the cars with 2.5-liter four-cylinder engines rated at 270 hp (200 kW).
Five out of six cars will be sold to collectors for £1,650,000 each, while the Vanwall Historic Racing team will get the sixth one.
The company promises to show us the first completed roadster in a year and a half. Should it prove popular enough, a road-legal variant may emerge later on.
