WEY, a Chinese car brand and part of the Great Wall conglomerate, has torn the veil off its all-new WEY X Concept vehicle. The car will debut before the wide audience at the Beijing Automotive Exhibition (Auto China 2018) starting in a few days.
The WEY-X crossover SUV features an innovative body design and is packed full of advanced electronics. Its main feature, however, comes in the form of a holographic projection of a woman in uniform, serving as a virtual assistant for the driver. The AI can take over control over certain car functions, such as toggling headlights and adjusting car stereo volume.
Access to the vehicle is granted via a face recognition system which (hopefully) won’t let in a stranger.
Among other things, the WEY-X is going to take advantage of an all-electric drivetrain whose parameters remain unknown at the moment.
