Wiesmann teases a new coupe with a BMW M5 V8 under the hood

Netherlands-based car manufacturer Wiesmann has released the first teaser photo of its upcoming sports coupe. The cloth conceals what looks rather like another classical Wiesmann vehicle, complete with the oval-shaped front grille. Maybe this is just a facelifted GT MF4-CS, but a brand-new model is also possible.

In all likelihood, the car comes powered by the 4.4-liter twin-turbo V8 mill of the latest BMW M5 and has 600 hp (447 kW) at its disposal. The company signed an agreement with the German automotive giant in 2017 that granted it access to this engine model.

The identity of the vehicle remains a mystery, yet Wiesmann says it will premiere at the IAA Frankfurt 2019 and be assembled in the town of Dülmen, Germany.

As for the GT MF4-CS mentioned above, the car debuted six years ago with a V8 engine rated at 402 hp (300 kW) and could sprint 0-100 km/h (0-62 mph) in 4.4 seconds. Watch the video and see our gallery for a closer look.
