The Knight Vision R is essentially yet another take at the iconic AC Cobra roadster encased in a full-carbon body and boasting composite wheels alongside carbon-ceramic brakes and exhaust system.
Responsible for the ambitious project is Knight International, a company founded by English entrepreneur Gary Knight who once bought an aged Ferrari 308 GT4, restored it to peak condition and sold at a profit. Up until now, the company was primarily a brokerage, but it looks like it would now like a shot at niche sports car production.
The Vision R comes powered by a gas-chugging Ford V8 with 5.2 liters of displacement and a supercharger. It churns out 771 hp (575 kW), sending the entire momentum to the rear wheels. In turn, dual electric motors jointly rated at 355 hp (265 kW) help the front axle keep up. The cumulative output therefore sums up to 1,125 hp (840 kW), a formidable power rating for a vehicle that weighs in at mere 907 kilograms (2,000 lbs), battery pack included.
No interior shots are available at the moment, but the manufacturer promises us carbon-frame bucket seats, as well as a VR helmet keeping the driver updated with the relevant telemetry and other real-time data.
The Knight Vision R should emerge in a small production run of 500 units priced at approximately $500,000 USD. Six-piston Wilwood brakes at the front end and adjustable Ohlins shocks will be included in the base spec.
