Watch the first AC Cobra GT Roadster get pieced together

UK-based niche automaker AC Cars has shown us its first Cobra GT Roadster – a continuation car heavily inspired by the legendary AC Cobra. The premiere took place at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in London, with the manufacturer showing some factory footage along with the interior of the car and its main specs.

The revived classic measures 4,330 x 1,960 x 1,400 mm L/W/H with a wheelbase spanning 2,570 mm. It is thus larger than its ancestor, but manages to retain recognizable proportions and styling. It is also awash with finely integrated modern tech, including all-LED lighting. The wheelbase and the wheel span are both bigger than before.

The chassis is manufactured from aluminum and overlaid with all-carbon bodywork weighing as little as 50 kilograms (110 pounds). The whole car comes in at under 1.5 metric tons (3,300 pounds). Power comes from a supercharged 5.0-liter V8 available in 454 PS (448 hp / 334 kW) and 654 PS (645 hp / 481 kW) variants. For the transmission, buyers can choose between six-speed manual and ten-speed automatic.

The flagship spec needs 3.4 seconds for its 0-96.6 km/h (0-60 mph) sprint.
