Car aficionados in the USA have managed to squeeze the full powertrain of a Tesla Model S Plaid inside the petite body of an AC Cobra crate car. That’s one way to get an exceptionally fast and lightweight track tool!
The main challenge was to fit the three e-motors churning out 1,033 PS (1,020 hp / 760 kW) and a 100-kWh battery array inside the Cobra. Nonetheless, the tuners succeeded after stretching the chassis and the bodywork somewhat. Despite this modification, the resulting car tipped the scales below 1,500 kilos (3,300 lbs). That’s particularly impressive if you consider that the Tesla Model S Plaid weighs 2,150 kg (4,740 lbs) or so.
Revolt Systems has already tried out the car and was seriously impressed with it, although the driver did comment that it probably had “too much power.”
