Acura CDX gets a “sported-up” A-Spec version in China

The facelifted 2021 Acura CDX will hit the market in China later this month. Just as the company announced last fall, it will be getting a special version called A-Spec, which will lend it a sportier appearance – and little else.

The CDX A-Spec boasts a new front bumper, a different rear diffuser, black trim parts instead of chrome ones, round exhaust tips instead of trapezoid ones, 18-inch wheels, special edition badges, and the “Red” paint option (the first time for China). The cabin trim also sports a special color combination and includes all the options available for the model.

The gasoline version of the Acura CDX comes equipped with a 1.5-liter turbo-four engine good for 182 hp (135 kW) and 240 Nm (177 lb-ft) of torque, mated to an eight-speed DCT. The CDX Sport Hybrid relies on its i-MMD System, which incorporates a two-liter naturally aspirated engine, a single electric motor and an E-CVT box. Its peak output amounts to 215 hp (160 kW).
