A unique 2021 Acura ARX-05 DPi – short for Daytona Prototype international – is up for grabs right now with a few days remaining and the bidding already past U.S. $350,000.
The racer has claimed four victories in this year’s season along with a pole position at the Rolex 24 at Daytona. It has participated in ten races in total and comes wrapped in a livery designed for the Petit Le Mans, the final competition of the season.
Oreca produced the carbon-fiber monocoque cabin a couple of years ago, making the part behind the driver’s section removable. Other noteworthy features included a geometrically variable rear wing, a large fixed fin running along the body, a roof scoop, exhaust side pipes, and cutouts in the top sections of all wheel arches.
Power comes from a 3.5-liter twin-turbo V6 driving the wheels with 600 PS (592 hp / 441 kW) through a six-speed sequential gearbox. The total mileage for the season comes to 17,700 km (11,000 miles), but the team swapped out the engine for a new one every 5,600 km (3,500 miles) as per the regulations. Every wheel of this Acura racer is suspended on double wishbones, and Brembo brakes all around feature six pistons and carbon-ceramic rotors.
Equipment on board includes racing gauges and telematics, and stays unchanged from the last race.
