The Honda of America Racing Team has unveiled a new rally racer based on the latest Acura Integra chassis for the upcoming Lake Superior rally. While Honda employees form a part of the HART crew, it is not considered an official project – just a hobbyist group pursuing racing activities in its free time.
The car complies with the requirements of the Limited 2WD category, which imposes a limit on modifications from stock. For example, this category mandates an engine volume of 1.6 liters or less. The Integra has a Type S version with more displacement than that (see video), but the one picked for the rally has to make do with a standard 1.5-liter mill churning out around 200 horsepower (150 kilowatts).
The regulations allow for suspension and brake modifications and adding roll cages, but HART doesn’t reveal whether any such mods have been carried out. Judging by the photos alone, the car ended up with tweaked suspension, sports-grade tires, auxiliary lighting on the hood and a special livery.
