Following a short video teaser revealing the updated exterior of its MDX crossover SUV, Acura has shared some cabin shots.
The fourth generation comes to us with the Acura Precision Cockpit, a dedicated multimedia touchscreen, a 25-speaker ELS Studio sound system complete with fancy backlight, and sculptured front seats with an assortment of massage modes. The trim scheme involves natural wood and leather adorned with French hems.
Acura boasts that the interior tech, trim and overall quality have taken a “quantum leap” compared to the previous generation from seven years ago. This rings true given the venerable age of the predecessor model, but other than that, the cabin looks little different from that of the TLX sedan, which we saw debut in late spring.
The Acura MDX will celebrate its first public appearance on Wednesday, October 14, as a pre-production vehicle. Having said that, it should be as close to the production version as possible. It will probably be longer, wider and less tall compared to the old generation and come powered by the same engines as the new TLX sedan. The performance-packed MDX Type S should follow in a couple years’ time.
