Acura unveiled a pre-production version of the fourth-gen MDX SUV a month and a half ago. It is now official that the production car will be shown on December 8 and go on sale in early 2021.
The marque’s flagship gained a bit of length and width while losing height after switching to a new, SUV-only tech platform. This is the first time the MDX model got dual-wishbone suspension at the front end. Other than that, the design cues and feature set are similar to that of the latest TLX sedan. As a premium model, the MDX benefits from a digital dashboard and what Acura claims is its best audio system in history.
A 3.5L V6 spec will be the first to hit the market, featuring a ten-speed automatic transmission and an SH-AWD system. The hot Acura MDX Type S will follow next summer, armed with a 3.0L turbo V6.
