Acura schedules new AWD tech for Chicago show premiere

At the 2020 Chicago Auto Show starting later this week, Acura will unveil the fourth generation of its Super Handling All-Wheel Drive system (SH-AWD).

The sports car maker originally introduced the system along with its RL full-size sedan/saloon 16 years ago. It has received numerous improvements since.

The main feature of the generation four comes in the form of torque vectoring control, which essentially guarantees steering predictability and performance on just about any surface. It can also facilitate driving through sharp curves at high speeds.

The system has also gained a hybrid-specific modification called the Sport Hybrid AWD. The company plans to make it available for its NSX, MDX and RLX models.
