According to an official announcement, the Acura NSX will be getting a long-awaited Type S version – but it will be its swan song. More will be revealed at the Quail event on August 13, 2021.
Based on the teaser images, the car sports blacked-out exterior décor, a gloss-black rear spoiler, a Type S logo and a red engine bay lid. New exterior finishes are also high on our expectation list.
The current-gen Acura NSX entered the market in 2017 as a hybrid AWD sports car rated at 580 PS (572 hp / 427 kW) and 676 Nm (500 lb-ft) of torque. In all likelihood, the Type S will go above 610 PS (600 hp / 447 kW).
The production will be set up in Marysville, Ohio, and Acura plans to produce 350 units in total – 30 for Japan and 320 for the other markets.
