The recently introduced Acura NSX Type S will be the last second-gen NSX before it goes out of production, but it looks like the company could hold on to its hybrid sports car a little longer.
According to The Drive quoting Acura Brand Officer and VP Jon Ikeda, another generation may yet come to the market despite the so-so sales of its predecessor. Without delving into any detail, Ikeda said that the first generation was gas-powered, the second one was hybrid, and there was still room for another one. Whether this was a hint at an all-electric third-gen NSX is up for you to decide at this moment.
A few years ago, the director of Honda Development said the company considered making its next NSX model fully electric based on the 4-Motor Acura EV Concept rated at 1,500 PS (1,479 hp / 1,103 kW) and 322 km (200 miles) of range.
