The last production example of the second-generation Acura NSX has rolled off the production line in Ohio, USA. Like all NSX vehicles produced over the past year, it was a high-end Type S specification.
Acura has produced 350 Type S supercars in total. 70 of these were finished in an exclusive color called Gotham Grey, including the first and the last example. The car shown here also landed with black alloy wheels and red brake calipers.
Rather than going to a museum, the car will be delivered to a collector in Florida who already keeps a matching first-generation NSX in his garage.
With the NSX now permanently gone from production, its place on the conveyor belt will be taken by the Acura TLX Type S PMC Edition. The company plans to make 100 sedans in each of the following colors: 130R White, Curva Red, and Long Beach Blue. The former two are already sold out, and the third color will go on sale on December 8. Chances are good that it sells out within hours, just like the first two options.
The Acura NSX Type S (see video) debuted last August with a 3.5-liter turbo six-cylinder engine and three electric motors driving the wheels. While the standard version made 573 horsepower, the Type S raised the bar to 600 hp. An optional carbon-fiber package made it weigh 26 kilograms (57 pounds) less than stock.
