Carscoops has found an interesting electrification project based on the first-gen Acura NSX (see video). Jeff Budd, from Redwood City, California, put a Tesla Model S motor under the hood.
The donor vehicle is a 1994 Acura NSX. By the time Jeff bought it, the car had already been swapped to a Honda K-series engine. It no longer had Acura’s own 274-PS (270-hp / 201-kW) V6 in the engine bay. The enthusiast went on and replaced the mill once more, this time around with a Tesla motor. It only fitted into the engine compartment backwards, but ended up working just fine.
The project is still not over, though, as the owner is planning on replacing the battery pack with a Nissan Leaf one. The power output and other specifications also remain to be revealed.
